Martha Stewart recently featured these Decorative Glass Magnets in her craft of the day e-mail. These fun and quirky little magnets do a heck of a job holding things to your fridge. My pal, Amie, and I made these one winter as stocking stuffers. We quickly learned a good magnet is key, otherwise it doesn't stay stuck to the fridge, let alone hold anything. This is a great way to use up scraps of scrapbook paper. Enjoy and let me know what creative uses you come up with...

{artful dodger}

Another Martha Stewart craft that I could not pass by are these delightful faux bois draft dodgers for windows and doors. I have some that I picked up in Lancaster, and they resemble long dachshund puppy dogs, but these by MS are very cool. Must find me some of that fabric...if you locate it, let me know.

In Martha Stewart's catalog of wonderful crafty ideas-this one comes from her wedding craft newsletter---a fabric button boutonniere. But I think it can be reimagined just a little as a fmeinine piece on a wooly sweater...what do you think?

{let is snow}

Thomas Clark cut his first paper snowflake in 1987 and since that time has created a veritable blizzard. In fact, this retired University of Michigan physician is so prolific that he’s garnered the moniker ‘Dr. Snowflake.’ His snowflakes eschew their natural geometric forms for representational images. Every flurry tells a story, illustrating Shakespearean sonnets to Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales. His current exhibition at the U of M Hospital depicts the biblical stories of Exodus and the Flood, running now through February 8.

{spicy scents of the season}

Friend Elizabeth sent this clever idea: Use a pumpkin incense burner to suggest the cozy scent of pie just out of the oven. Cut off the pumpkin's top and scrape out the innards; carve round vents with an apple corer. Rub cinnamon or pumpkin-pie spices onto the lid, or push cloves into it. With a lighted tealight candle inside, the pumpkin will give off a lovely fragrance for about six hours.
