{Pile of Craft Fair-Day 10}

Our last artist in the 10 day series is a devotee of the simple lines found in nature. From Kimono jewelry to pieces seemingly plucked right out of a garden, Tiger Lilly Shop artist Allison Fomich has her finger on the pulse of nature and all its beauty.

Found Studio is a great place to find the original collage art of Kacey Buchanan Stafford. Her art is fresh and whimsical. I like her bold use of color mixed with vintage images. What a clever way to showcase vintage items without being overlydone.

Yummy and Company makes some very interesting jewelry using black clay and silver for a majority of their pieces. The combo is very striking. Although the color combo is very modern, the pieces have a flair of traditional as well, like little flowers embossed into the clay.

As you, gentle readers, all know-I love my two cats Jack and Ted. As well as my love of Jane Austen and all things Regency. So, naturally I am drawn to portraiture. Well, Vanessa of Pidge pidge creates either in embroidery or applique a portrait of your pet sitting in a very dignified pose. If only I had the wall space...My boys would look very regency and regal, perhaps even presidential.

Artist Shawna Pincus sells pottery under the name Pinkkiss Pottery. Not seen above in the pictures, she had a line that was offered at the craft fair that mimicked plates and mugs from centuries ago, featuring tall ships and nautical fair. I was mesmerized by her juxtaposition of the new and the old. I ended up buying some ceramic buttons to make into rings. Wish there was more time in the day to craft. Her buttons are beautiful, just like the rest of her large pottery pieces.

It was a hot summer day in Baltimore on the day of the "Pile of Craft Fair", and who better to cool one off? Sloe Gin Fizz! that's who! The fresh artwork of this artist, from her cool and soothing colors to her choice of subject matter, makes for a charming compilation. I purchased some birdy stickers to decorate a photo album-I can't wait to sit down and scrapbook.

Yeah, yeah, yeah! It's a Block Party! This artisan has two websites, one for her very cool jewelry and the other for her recycled art. My favorite pieces were some rings and necklaces made to look like little clouds. They had an Eeyoresque quality about them.

Oh my gosh, the absolute cutest garden gnomes ever!!!! Tasha McKelvey had a booth full of such delightful little creations. I just wanted to touch and pick up everything. The colors alone, in her pottery, were radiant and vivid. One day a garden gnome will make its way to my house...I'm sure of it.

Today's artisan is a vertiable "Hooos Hoo" with her fancy sewing and eye for bringing out the most charm in her bird and owl inspired totes and bags.

I will readily admit to having falling in love with a cute little pink bag festooned with a very cute owl, who seems to know she's cute too. Jen pays attention to all the little details that make a purchase like this well worth every penny.

We kick off a 10 day post of artisans found at this year's Pile of Craft Fair put on by the Charm City Craft Mafia in Baltimore, MD on June 26th.

Our first artisan to be featured is The Broken Plate Pendant Company which brings recycled crafts to a new art form. Some items are very traditional in setting while others verge on contemporary using plates from the 1950s and 60s. What an ingenious way to use broken plates. My mosaic-making mom would be oh, so impressed.
