{foyer beginnings}

Gotta love the use of space that this secretary desk down a hallway idea from Martha Stewart shows us.

I have a secretary with a set of glassed in shelves that I have sitting near my front door. I house a collection in the top and then down below in the drawers--spare canvas bags and paper bags in one drawer; the second drawer houses hats, mittens, scarves, umbrellas; and finally the 3rd drawer keeps track of the phone books and all my cell phone and camera boxes and instructional manuals. When I need to remember something, I swing the desk front out and place the items on the desk. There is also a hidey hole in which I keep the spare keys. All in all, I'd say I made the most of my little foyer, and did so in a prettily way.
