Sometimes you get lucky, like this really great post I found over at Charlotte's Fancy! So, I had to share her really great find: Katie Stephenson of Art Wall has created a website in which she is able to decorate virtually and yet be able to purchase the very item that win your heart's desire. Art Wall is an online gallery exhibiting the artwork of handmade artists. "Curate, don't decorate," she urges us.
The site is smartly divided up by rooms of a house. So, if you've been looking for some art for your nursery, she's got suggestions for you. She also has ideas for your family room, dining room, entryway, bedroom, and others.
Katie has designed the site so beautifully that you can't stop clicking through the rooms and admiring both the art on the wall as well as the wonderful illustrations, which were done by Jess Gonacha Swift.
I wanted to share every single room with you because they are all so fun to look at, but then there would be no surprises left for you, and that wouldn't be good, would it?
So, take a peek here and then visit the site for all the rest of the rooms:
Art Wall is not itself a shop, but you can click on the pieces you like (whether for yourself or for a gift) and the links will take you directly to the artists' shops. Every piece on the site costs between $5 and $500 and is handmade or a print of something handmade. And we ♥ handmade, right?
Don't miss the Art Wall blog.
You can also find her on Twitter and on Facebook
If you are an artist, learn how to submit your artwork.
Hats off to Katie for such a great idea and site. And thanks to Charlotte's Fancy for the post.
